Billy (1924—94), English footballer; full name William Ambrose Wright. A wing-half and latterly a defender, he was the first player to make more than a hundred appearances for his country (105 altogether, ninety as captain).

Orville (1871—1948) and Wilbur (1867—1912), American aviation pioneers. In 1903 the Wright brothers were the first to make brief powered sustained and controlled flights in an aeroplane, which they had designed and built themselves. They were also the first to make and fly a fully practical powered aeroplane (1905) and passenger-carrying aeroplane (1908).
